Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 16, 2026
This policy describes how Kenji Fukuda, doing business as Quiet Forge ("we," "us"), collects and uses information through the Quiet Forge Hosting service at my.quiet-forge.net ("the Service").
What We Collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and a password (stored as an irreversible cryptographic hash — we never store or can see your actual password). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and a stable Google account identifier instead.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number — only a reference to your Stripe customer/subscription and its payment status.
- Your hosted site content: whatever files, code, or content you or your site involves in order to host it.
- Server logs: standard web server logs (visitor IP address, timestamp, requested page) for your hosted site and for the Service itself, kept for security, troubleshooting, and to generate the traffic statistics shown on your dashboard (see "Traffic Statistics" below).
How We Use It
- To provide and operate your hosted site, including SSL certificate issuance (via Let's Encrypt) and DNS.
- To process recurring billing and send you account, billing, and service notifications (verification emails, password resets, payment receipts and failures, service status).
- To generate the traffic statistics available on your own dashboard.
- To respond to support and add-on requests you submit to us.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Traffic Statistics
Your dashboard shows basic traffic statistics (pageviews, unique visitors) for your own site. These are computed by parsing your site's own server log — there is no third-party analytics script or tracker embedded on your site, and no data about your site's visitors is shared with or sold to anyone.
Who We Share It With
We share information only with the service providers needed to run the Service:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google, for authenticating your identity.
- Our email provider — to send account and service emails.
- Let's Encrypt — issues the SSL certificate for your site's domain, which inherently involves your domain name (already public information via DNS).
- Anthropic (Claude Code) — the AI development pipeline used to build and maintain this platform may process technical/operational data as part of that work.
We do not share your information for these providers' own marketing purposes, and we require they use it only to provide the service to us.
Data Retention
We keep account and billing records for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet our own tax and bookkeeping obligations. Hosted site content is removed following cancellation, after a grace period intended to let you retrieve anything you need — contact us if you need content removed sooner, or if you need it preserved longer than our default practice. You are responsible for keeping your own copies/backups of your site content — see the Terms of Service for detail.
Cookies
The Service uses a single session cookie required for you to stay logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your Rights (California Residents)
You may request to know what personal information we hold about you, request its deletion, or ask a question about how it's used, by emailing support@quiet-forge.net. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, so there is no sale/share to opt out of.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
